Casablanca...

I had a really good day today... spent a lot of it at Rick's Cafe and had another great lunch there along with a few drinks.

On some occasions, for no apparent reason, I start to smile through my whole body and break out into a quiet laugh... I find that has been happening a lot here in Casablanca... especially at Rick's!

Today I spent a little time in the Old Medina. It's not unlike the others in Rabat and Marrakech. But I did find a couple items to bring back with me.

I also saw a person dressed as a traditional Berber Moroccan Water Seller. Super cool outfit! Water sellers used to get water outside the main part of the city and carry it in and sell it by the drink. I feel sure they now make more money by having their pictures taken :-)

It's not the same as in the movie... but no one gets shot in this one either.

I went here my 1st day in Casablanca. I'm glad I did because that gave me the chance to go back every day!

You couldn't ask for a more picturesque setting. The service is impeccable - you'll never find so much as a fingerprint on a glass (I've watched them check and wipe glassware).

The food is fantastic; my 1st time there I had the lemon sole. It was magnificent and probably the best fish I have ever had.

The drinks are good and generous with alcohol. Many seem to come with a little something on the side "included".

Saad (pictured Left & Right) is definitely a first class bartender.

I even managed to get a picture behind the bar... the bartenders aren't supposed to let anyone back there...

Rick's has the main floor bar and dining. But there are all sorts of areas upstairs, too.

Yes, the movie Casablanca is playing on a screen all the time upstairs.

After visiting Tangier, I'm back in Casablanca again... about to fly home tomorrow. But not without one last visit to Rick's and a few drinks and a fantastic lunch for my taste buds.
