Casablanca Lift Arm Lighter
This lighter was a modern version of one or more older designs. A nice, brass lighter it was, nevertheless, more a reproduction than anything else. This lighter was produced around 1985 and there were other companies that had the same or similar designs and occasionally one of those are seen; they are not called Casablanca, though. Harley Davidson put out a Casablanca lighter like this, as well.
The base of the lighter pulls off to reveal a "secret compartment" with a little retractor in it - suitable for stashing some currency... or whatever.

B&B Pull Chain Table Lighter
c. early 1920s. Pulling the chain causes the snuffer cap to come up and the spark wheel to strike the flint and produce a spark to produce a fire. This Brown & Bigelow lighter is from the early days of GMAC (General Motors Acceptance Corporation). Opened in 1919, GMAC revolutionized the retail industry by financing GM cars and trucks. Prior to GMAC people had to pay cash or make arrangements with local banks - most of which were reluctant to finance motor vehicles.

B&B Redi Flame Butane Table Lighter
c. 1951 One of the very early butane lighters, this uses a proprietary gas tank that is inserted into a chamber. When the fuel chamber cap is screwed on it punctures the tank allowing the gas to be used. The cap uses an O-Ring to seal the bottom of the fuel chamber. The much later Ronson Varaflame Comet used a very similar mechanism to the striking mechanism in the top of this lighter. None of these would be functional any longer because the fuel tanks are not refillable and are no longer made. The tanks look and operate like many modern day CO2 tanks such as used in air rifles and pistols.

B&B Butane Table Lighter
c. 1963 This later butane table lighter uses standardized (universal) gas refill tanks and maintains the same basic mechanism as the early Redi Flame. It appears an adapter may be needed for fueling as I was unable to get any gas in using a standard butane refill. This lighter has a button on the back which, when pushed, causes the flint wheel to turn against a flint and produce a spark to ignite the gas. The lever near the top on the front is a flame adjustment.
