Chase Brass & Copper

Chase Brass & Copper Co., Inc. of Waterbury CT was the most successful of the metal giftware manufacturers of the 1930s. It combined exceptional designs from leading freelance industrial designers with a strong in-housedesign capability. It was also very strong in marketing; the development of 'Chase Shops' in leading department and giftware stores made Chase a household name.

Chase Brass & Copper began life in 1876 as the Waterbury Manufacturing Company, producing thousands of goods for consumer and industrial markets. In 1929, the Chase Companies (as they were known by that time), were acquired by the Kennecott Copper Corporation, and in 1936 the company was renamed the Chase Brass & Copper Company.
